Camping on a toon
I have the desire to spend the night on my toon sometime this summer. I was interested in turning the 2 couches in the front into a bed.....any ideas? Do they make something or am I going to have to construct a frame?
Re: Camping on a toon
If your couches are not long enough to sleep on, take blow up air beds with you, and sleep on the floor under the canopy--out of the dew. They now make blow up's very comfortable.

I would suggest staying under the bimini some how. Every time we have spent the night the morning dew is really heavy. Here is some links to our first over night and how we did it that might give you some ideas. We have done 6 nights now and each time is GREAT!!

Good luck and enjoy. There is something special about that first cup of coffee in the mornings.

The lounge seats on my Party Cruiser fold out, big enough to sleep 4, although at Canal Days we've had more, lol.

I have 2 sterns blow up beds specifically made for going in between front couchs an the L couch in rear. They came with a nice air pump an storage bag I highly recommend these beds.

I think I'm going to try out one of these. The reviews are mixed but for the price it's hard to go wrong.

Then put a tall air mattress in between the seats.

Thanks Guys, I appreciate the tips. I was thinking air mattress but didn't think one would fit. Does the netting keep the dew off, or should I be looking into something else?
Re: Camping on a toon
BigDaddy
The netting goes over my bimini and that keeps the dew off. The netting by itself would not.

We'd like to do some long distance river cruising in the future. Wouldn't it be nice if the full enclosures weren't $4,000 additional?
I guess that means we'll have to be stopping at state park inns and cities that have motels on the water. There's nothing wrong with that.

As long as the night time temp is comfortable our rig works GREAT and less than $500 for everything.
