Same as Carl..........first prop i tried was the 17p mercury mirage plus. ran about 38mph with a max rpm of 5300rpm. sort of miss the big roostertail the mirage plus gave but then went to the 15 enertia and never looked back. me an a co pilot ran 40.5 gps. not a big boost in mph but got the rpms in the correct 5800+ range.
not sure of the exact price cause the boat was new and 100 bucks or so just got lost in the final pricing. it was in the neighborhood of 500 give or take. sure a better deal can be found today. just be careful if ordering online........seems someone here ordered one an it began to show signs of rust. believe they said it was a knock off or demo prop and wasn't 100percent alloy in composition.

I am REALLY getting frustrated! I have spent the last 2 hours trying to find a 15x15 prop, ANY kind/brand. It seems for my 125 Mercury I can not find anything over 13 3/4 diameter. There is all kinds for 135 and up though, would anybody know if those props would fit on my motor?

I just went to the Mercury prop selector site and one of the props that is recommended is what I have on there!

Is it possible that motor will not accept a 15 diameter prop? I mean I put in there that it was for a pontoon boat and still all recommendations were in the 13" diameter???

Currently I have a 14" diameter 11 pitch. It does a little better for tubers. The other prop for general use is a 13 3/4" 15 pitch.

These are the best two size props I have found since buying th boat in new 2003.

Since we have the same motor on a toon, I think one of these two will be your best bet. I have several other sizes, but I do not like them, so I keep them for spares.

I am pretty sure the biggest prop should be 14" on that motor.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

I think at this point I am going to pull the reigns back and wait till spring. I can't remember what my max rpms were, and never gps my top speed. I am kinda thrown back by the fact that the prop I all ready have is one of the 4 recommended props for my set up.

doesn't really surprise me with some of the answers or selections I have got using the prop selectors.
when all else fails just deal with a prop shop and say make it work. sometime removing the hassle is worth the extra bucks..........doc

Thats just it, the nearest prop shop to me is about 1 1/2 hours away and does not have a good reputation.

Give prop gods a call in Fla. Have not dealt with them personally but believe they have helped a few people on the forum. Might cost you a few bucks to try diff props but to me that is better than trying to sell them on Ebay.

Not to add to your frustration but I did find a black max 14x14 on Merc's web page. You ought to measure the distance from the prop shaft to the cav plate to see what will swing thru. That may answer your question as to why they only list props in the 13's.
I've delt with Ken at prop gods. :bowdown He's good. you can check the forum there and he'll answer your questions and give recommendations.

Still say the difference between the two metals is minimal on a 125hp. :deadhorse
