Drago... I still have carpeted bunks on my trailer but I do spray them with liquid rollers 2 or 3 times a summer and that makes the bunks pretty slippery.. we when we're getting ready to launch, we don't unhook the strap until the boat is backed down far enough in the water for me to start the motor ( just to make sure it cranks before unhooking the strap ).. If for some reason the boat were to slide back when the strap is unhooked ( and that has not happened to us yet ) we would be ok since the back end of the trailer is already deep enough in the water to launch... as for loading, to keep the boat from sliding back from the stops, on occasion I have had to just keep the motor in gear ( at low rpm's )until we got the strap hooked back up... so far, so good.
