Three tubes vs two

Of course everyone will say you need a tritoon but my new regular pontoon is all we need. When you add a third toon, you need more HP, hydraulic if not power assist steering, underskinning. All this will add about 6-8k to the cost. I can not see it but everyone is blowing up the tritoon thing. I guess if I could of afforded it I may of done it but I am happy with my new boat like it is. It all comes down to what you want and what you will be doing with it.

Steering Assist NOT necessary.
Underskinning NOT necessary.
6-8K NOT necessary.

I had the third toon added by the dealer without underskinning (I'm doing it myself soon).
No steering assist. Manual works fine with my 115.

Cost about $3K extra, on a 24' boat.

I have power steering on the Party Cruiser and not on my Starcraft with the same engine. I can't tell the difference at all. Don't need 3 logs on a such a huge boat with 28 inch logs, but it's partially underskinned. I want to do the rest over the winter.

My first toon could have benefited with underskinning not sure how much benefit I got on the bentley. Don't think I ever heard the splash on the bottom of the deck that much. Still it will be an option, I select on the next one along with the strakes.
