Cutting the rear struts may work, or relocate them backwards onto the main top fence rail.
That elevated fence piece is what got you buggered up.
Nice Southbay btw.

Duh! I see now . I had a few guys on the lake looking at this with me and we all could only see cutting the rears shorter . None of us ever thought about the higher rail mount on the rear being the screw up. I did look at dropping them to the lower rail but for some reason I couldnt do it. I think my rear hatch on the port side sits over it . Cant remember since its been in storage for a while.
Thanks guys.

yeah it does, you can see it in the pic you posted, you'll prolly have to cut the struts.

Shouldn't this be covered by southbay? It looks like the top was made wrong or shipped with the wrong rear struts!

Not sure who puts the tops on. Either way you would think they would know the rail mount in the rear is higher and adjust accordingly. I could probably get my dealer to do the fix but since he is 3 hrs away I will handle it my self. Take me about 20 minutes to drill out the pop rivet , cut the tube and remount the base .

Hi Smoker - if you end up doing a warranty on it, don't forgot there is a South Bay dealer just south of you on Chain of Lakes. Less than an hours drive from Kenosha. We bought our boat there and they do all the service as well - great group! Munson Marine in Fox Lake.

If you move the rear uprights, wouldn't your cover be messed up then? Where the collar opening is?

I would agree. I'm wondering if this top was going to be used with straps in place of struts because of the gate placement, but some one installed struts instead? I take it your struts are NOT adjustable (up and down)? What does the measure ment from hole-to-hole NEED to be on the front? I might still have a set of adjustable strust laying around...
Just one boat...after another, after another :-)

I keep my boat on Castle Rock Lake in Necedah. That is 3 hrs from my dealer in Milwaukee. I cant move my struts back because the hatch on the port side is over the rail , so no problem on my cover collars.

I cant tell from the pic what holes the front struts are in on the one on boat trader but mine are in the lowest just to get the top somewhat tight. It will be no problem to raise the fronts to the center hole , which will result in lots of slack, but then cut the rear tubes down to tighten the top and level it out.

I did a trial fit on the water last year and still enough headroom, of course I was drinking a few beers that day. My wife was the dd :drink4 . I think the tops for these multi level mounts come with shorter tubes in the back and mine just got the standard ones for a straight rail.
