Troy:

What a beautiful way to honor your son. As a father of four I can't even imagine...

It's strange how you can't find much about weathering a storm on a lake with lightening all around. My wife and I, and one of our daughters were caught on a jet ski once when a lightning storm blew up quickly. I had no idea what to do! I headed for the first dock I saw and got them off the ski and tied it up to a post on the outside of the structure. I then noticed that we were on a metal dock with a metal roof. I had them run to the trees for coverage. I then thought about tree strikes...all in all we were lucky, but I still have no idea what to do if I'm on the toon? I have heard cove out with the anchor...beach it...get off the boat...it's frustrating not knowing the answer! Anyone?

There is one thing that I do every x-mas that helps me get through all the "family" stuff without Nate. I go to a wal-mart, not the same one every year and I let the management people know I'm there. One time I didn't I was approached by a security guy and management and was asked what I was doing following people around. Here's what I do. I scope out a family (usually without the dad there because I don't want to offend him) a family that looks like they may need some help. When I finally find one I approach them and tell them I would like to help with there x-mas. Then I tell them that I'm doing this in memory of my son. I then we fill up 3 or 4 carts full and I buy it and leave. I have done this every x-mas since my boy died and I feel good every time I do it.
Hats off to you! You sound like a great guy! You have inspired me!

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

Wow, so sorry to read about this tragedy. I'm glad you've found a way to channel those feelings to help others & yourself. Your a good man Troy.
