Newbie asking for help

Ran the Viper 19 pitch again today to check wot. It ran a 53.3 mph at 6000 rpm's, full tank of gas and me by my self. Like the idea that it is hitting the 6000 mark with just me. Should be good now with 3 or 4 people. Viper seems to be good all around prop on my set up.

UPDATE: Tested another prop yesterday. My neighbor has a Mercury 250 Pro XS on his toon and this his spare prop. He can only turn it 5400 so I asked to try on my toon. Little over 1/4 tank of fuel, top had cover on it but was in up position, (probably should have dropped it down). Just me on boat.l Nice calm day. I ran it up to 5900-6000 with a speed of 54.8. That is the fastest yet, I'm going to run his prop a little more with 4 to 6 people on board and see how it does. OH Sorry. prop is a 21 pitch Tempest Plus.

Wow, 54.8 mph is one of the fastest pontoon speeds I've seen with an Etec 250 HO and I have quite a lot of data. It would be interesting to see other data like acceleration, planing speed, mid range RPM speeds, fuel economy and etc. The prop slip comes out to be 13 to 14%.

Sunny, that 54.8 was with me by myself and about a 1/4 tank of fuel. I am going to check it later with some people on board and full gas. I think that by turning 6000 with light load it may work also with up to about 6 people on board. Hole shot was good, mid range pick up was also good. Plained out real well....... I run a tempest plus on my bass boat, that is what made me want to try one. My neighbor just happened to have one in a 21 pitch which is what I wanted to try.........The prop could stand some cleaning up. If I get it from him I will probably send it off and get it worked........Did your buddy ever get his dialed in? thanks Roger

Last I knew he was leaning towards the Rebel 19" prop on his relatively heavy 24' Bennington mainly for cruise and mid range performance. I don't know the details.
