Yup and I'll reiterate "The biggest SAFETY is the one between your ears.... Keep that safety engaged at all times and go from there...." I just spent days tubing & swimming with family, they have boats themselves and I'm sure if anyone was not comfy with how the boat was being run something would have been said....

he does have a point.... Grouser does not have a stern boarding ladder as do others, however which direction does you toon normally turn in current? Mine normally goes bow into wind which means bodies float to the rear... = off.

I'm just getting into the boating thing so this is not from boating experience but rather from operating other dangerous equipment for over 20 years as a career (corporate pilot). If you feel 'nervous' about what you are doing, you're 'doing it wrong'. Simple as that. Use your head and always operate within the envelope that you are comfortable with.

This is not to say you can't run the motor when someone is in the water. Someone else's situations/equipment/standards can be different. But if you're asking here whether or not to turn off the motor, I tend to think you're nervous about leaving it on.

I think the bigger problem with CO would be if it got trapped between the toons. If someone went under the boat to get out of the sun they could be in bad trouble.

I gotya. I couldn't imagine someone would want to hang out between the toons with an engine running.

not really nervous,,,, I felt it was OK to leave her running and in neutral while I was at the helm and the spotter was working the rope ,,,,. I just wanted to see how others felt and find out if there was something I was not thinking of. New to boating and learning,,,, Thanks to everyone again for your comments
