Took the pontoon to the lake today and tested the enertia 15x15 prop. There was good news and bad news.
The mercury spun the prop at 6000 rpms, that's the good news. The bad news is I lost 5 MPH, max speed at WOT was 25mph. I went back to the dock and reinstalled the OEM Prop (15x17P) and she hit 30 at 5400 rpms. Came out of the hole a lot better then the enertia and overall a better performance.
Went from 19% slip, OEM to 30%, Enertia.
I'm at a loss and quite frankly I'm ready to just accept the 5400 rpms, cut my losses and be done with chasing performance.
I'll guess with you

WOW, I'm sorry pal. I would have expected a much better result from that prop.
No worries Rick, it is what it is. Like you I expected at least similar results to the OEM prop if not an improvement. Like I stated earlier in my results post, it did hit 6000 rpms but felt like I was still tied to the dock.
I'll either ebay it or sell it local.

Really looking forward to getting home in April as the newly flashed ECM for my motor is sitting in the garage waiting for me to install it and test the 115 HP that Simon claims my 75 will now be putting out.... Have a Mercury Smart Gauge also waiting to install as well as a 2nd bimini top to add for them really bright hot sunny days on the lake... Hope to get the underskinning done too...

Do your speed testing before adding the second bimini. Trouble with going up on horsepower is that you're often going to have to reprop the boat at the same time.
Hard to believe the Enertia prop didn't perform well. It's the standard of the industry--and available in 1" pitch increments.
I would think your Simon reflash will give you better driveability--on top of just top speed increases.

It is my plan to install the Simonized ECM and take at least a quick spin around to see what differences it brings; seems I recall topping out just shy of 28 MPH at 5500 RPM so the extra HP should allow the motor to make the most out of the stainless Vengeance 14x12 prop and hopefully spin up to a full 6K RPM...
I'll then be pulling the boat to power-wash the toons, install the SmartGauge and add under-skinning as I can really feel the wave action slapping the underpinnings.
I'll then actually be swapping the new 4-bow 8' bimini into place of the 3-bow 7' factory bimini and moving the smaller top to the front. The larger top should offer the wife & I a bit more shade...
Like you commented I'm expecting to see if not a large boost in speed but a boost in reserve power for when we add passengers and want to pull a tube or board etc...

I agree, my expectations were high for the Enertia. I was certainly disappointed! The prop did hit 6000 rpms Vs. the 5500 I'm pulling with the 15x17P aluminum prop. A 5mph drop in speed was unacceptable!

Yes a high dollar prop costing you speed is not what one expects for sure! In the case of my 75 that was not the case at all as I tried both an 11 & 13 pitch and neither gained me anything but a change in overall RPM and all I could find the 12 in was a Vengenace prop but it did pay off by making my boat faster... I have high hopes that the 12 will work out just fine for the 115 but do still have an alum 3-B 14" x 13" on hand to test too.

I am hoping to put my boat in the water in about 30 days
I have the updated ECM installed in my motor waiting to go
I am running about 27 at 5800 with a 13.4 x 15 four blade prop
If i can get 30 out of my boat i will be happy
Just to throw out another thought, those of us with the 2014 1.7ltr non-command thrust motor may want to
think about, the 75 and 90 hp motors red-line at 6000 but the 115 motors red-lined at 6400 rpm
because we increased our HP to 115 what should our red-line be?
Probably still want to keep close to 6,000 but i will not worry if it is close to 6.200 or so
what are your thoughts?

I'm guessing that you must have an early 2014 motor and that Mercury went to the 2.1 ltr motor sometime during the 2014 year? It is my impression that WOT on the 2.1 ltr 75 was 5,500 and all others were 6,000 but I do not know what red line is considered...

Yes i bought my boat in April 2014
they came out with the larger motor about 2 months later
I have a piece of literature on the 1.7 that shows red line (WOT) at
6000 for the 75 and 90 and 6400 for the 115 hp.
I will still try to keep closer to the 6000 or 6200 max with just me on board
hopefully i do not have to change prop as i am slightly under propped.
with you going up 45 hp or so i will bet you will need to go up in prop
I bet that 18' boat of yours will go good with that big engine

Well you already know that your Full Throttle RPM Range was 5,000 to 6,000 RPM and that the 115 the Full Throttle RPM Range was narrowed up to gain the extra HP to 5,800 to 6,400 RPM and that all these motors shared the exact same HEART so I'd not be fearful of going to 6,400 RPM if I had the need to but I'd also not make a habit of it either and would likely do as your planning and call 6,200 RPM the limit...
I was highly impressed with the 75 as I started with a 60 and while fun the combo was only "good" for 16 MPH and the 75 once the restricter was removed and properly propped I was really moving along just shy of 28 MPH.... I'll take any amount of speed that comes with another 40 HP but if like the OP I can realize 4 or 5 or MPH I'll be quite happy with the option of going 32/33 MPH but its going to be the reserve torque that I'll have for when I've got a heavy passenger load and want to pull a tube/board/skier etc that will make my day... And the option to RUN from a storm!

I've been away from this post for awhile. I hope you guys are impressed not only with the HP gains, but the boost in economy, too. My Verado pulled 2.6-3.2 mpg stock. Now its 3.6 to 4.2, for the amount of fuel I have pushed through my injectors in the last 4 years, I know I paid for the flash...

Since I just installed the new 75 motor late last year and the SmartGuage that I bought is waiting to be installed I have no history to go by. But the biggest reason I decided on the SmartGuage was to be able to watch the actual fuel burn so that I could learn the new Simonized motor's sweet spot for speed verse fuel consumption. That and while I don't know that I'll hook the gauge up to the fuel tank itself. It does have the next best thing which is a resettable counter that when I fill up I can just reset to zero and watch my total fuel burn and subtract that amount from the known 32 gallon cap...

These darn boats are so smart now days! My first Crestliner had a "Yardstick in the tank" gauge. Technology. Wow... Thats probably why my first brand new boat, a Forrester 164 Phantom, with a Force 150 on a new Yacht Club trailer cost me $4800 in 1984.
I think the full Smart Craft package is a third of that price, alone now.
