Thanks - We are really enjoying it. Still need to work on cleaning the carpet and seeing if we can clean the mildew (?) stains on the top of the seating.

Ha! Yeah, that may take just a bit more practice. Right now, that is so not me.sunedog wrote:Or like this guy........."How to dock like a boss"urbnsr wrote:Someday I will dock as each as Captain Ron did in the movie.

I've talked with the Admiral about an opening for a first mate. We've also decided to invest in a new boat/dock hook. Boat came with one, but the plastic tip looks like it should be replaced.

Yep, I did that too, many years ago when I was learning to handle the twins on my fishing boat. The last time I loaded my boat on my trailer, learned I need the practice again with the one engine on the toon.urbnsr wrote:We went out yesterday - The marina is closed ... I thought this would be perfect to practice with no one around.
On the fender issue, I've found it useful to have something rigged to drop over the bow. I've rigged a fender to lay horizontal and use a carabiner to clip it to the bow eyelet. Or, tie it off to your fence.
Have fun on the water!

Most welcome... Amazing from Bio-Kleen flat removed some mildew out of pebble-grain vinyl that laughed at the cheap dollar store stuff and even ignored 409 with Bleach cleaner...urbnsr wrote:Thanks again, Mr Cro. I will print and apply.

Re: First Timer Looking For Advice
Should work as it does seem to be a quality name brand product designed for marine vinyl use... The biggest factor to keep in mind is "moderation" in that you don't want to use any more harsh chemical than absolutely needed to remove either the dirt, stain or mildew from your seats and then to protect them to prevent the return... Just like the use of the magic eraser will it work? Absolutely it will. But over zealous or frequent use can remove top coat and leave you open to stains that will penetrate and not come out... I do a lot of my general cleaning with a soft terrycloth towel and water, when/if that does not work I'll add a mild soap to the cleaning routine... And keep the seats well lubed up with 303 Protectant and most dirt never sets in...Ryan_in_Virginia wrote:I wonder if this might help with the stains:

Re: First Timer Looking For Advice
Thanks guys. I appreciate all the input. Since the seats are still soft - even the stained areas, I want to make sure I don't do something that strips any protectant that starts major decay. It's not a new boat, but the previous owner seemed to have done a nice job and I want to keep it that way as long as possible, too.
It looks like I should have some UV protectant before I go too far cleaning.
Thanks for the fender ideas, Michael. I like to hear how you get things done. I appreciate that.
