Alternative to 303

#1 Post by The_Hellbilly » Thu Jul 28, 2011 6:48 am

Is there anything else I can put on my seats similar to 303 protectant? I need something I can pick up locally. My shopping options are Walmart, an auto parts store, and ace hardware. I just want something to get thru the weekend.

While I think 303 is good stuff, I believe other leather/vinyl protectors are just as good for most applications. Many auto parts stores sell Duragloss vinyl protectant which I've used in my boats and cars for years with good success.

Other good alternatives; Turtle Wax F21 vinyl protectant (Walmart), Lexol leather/vinyl protectant (Walmart and many auto parts stores).

Mequier's Plastic Protectorent (sp?), they have several kinds, is great for vinyl. Walmarts usually carry it, so do most auto stores.

Thanks Doc, but my local Ace's are Ace-holes that don't carry it. One is in a grocery store, and the other is an old store that should have been shut down years ago.

I use 303 about 3 times a year. I use pledge 1 time a week an if I can't find 303 I use formula 2 by ppc but I buy most of my cleaning supplies online in bulk.

Gonna head to Walmart in a bit. I'll see what I can find that has UV protectant in it. Thanks for all the help.

Just stay away from AmorAl. No body recommends it on there vinyl seats. It seems to attack the stitching. Mothers also has protectant that's UV protector also. I still Like 303 the best however! Been using it for the last 5 years on my boat. :thumbsup

Just something mild if there is no mildew. I used ivory soap on mine till I had some mildew. Bought a gallon of the 303 protectant and its great but didn't think the 303 cleaner was all that great, got a gallon of that also but probably won't repurchase the cleaner when it is gone.

I buy Awsum Orange or Orange Clean at the Dollar stores for a buck a bottle. Pour out 1/2 of it in a container and save to refill spray bottle. Add water to refill spray bottle and use that to clean off seats, consul and table. Rinse and wipe dry, then 303 to protect it. Has worked for me for 5 years now. The price is right for sure and best of all it works for me! Also great around the house full strength on anything. Just use diluted on walls, or it can leave streaks, start at bottom and work your way up, rinse good and wipe dry. Love the stuff as I bet you guessed by now,LOL! :thumbsup
