I think you should get out on it more often!
Really, if you enjoy boating and can get away more, make time for it. Work is over rated anyway. I've been trying to switch my lifestyle some as I realized I was working myself to death and am now taking 1-2 trips out a week now with the boat. I'm much more relaxed than I used to be, and am even thinking of a career change to better support my boating habit.
Of course, sometimes, things just don't work out and you can't get out on a regular basis. If that truly is the case, then I'd consider selling it. It gets to be an upkeep nightmare if it just sits there not getting used.
Hope you can do option #1!

I look at mine this way, It is paid for in full so if it sits here year after year, as long as I keep it covered and keep the engine in good shape it does not really cost anything. It doesnt eat so I will not get rid of it. But then again this Sunday will be my 21st trip on it this year. Around 250 miles total so I dont think I am under using it.

That's how I look at it, although I try to use mine all I can. All it's costs to sit there is $3xx.00 a year for insurance. (don't remember the exact amount).

I agree with those who say "use your boat".
The more you use it the cheaper it is per hour to use. The fixed cost really doesn't change (insurance, price of the boat, taxes etc) and you amortize it over more hours. It will also run better if you run it a lot. Boats that only get run a few times a year usually don't run very well.
At a certain point, renting a boat when you want to go may be cheaper, even at $100 an hour.

Can you fix the reason(s) for not using it????
I have a 2009 Yamaha Waverunner that was used once this year. My Mastercraft was used twice this year but will use it this weekend (for the last time this season).
My Southbay, on the other hand, has seen many pleasurable hours this summer and will see many more before I pull her out in late October.

They are eventually gonna grow up...and want to borrow YOUR boat... So you'd be better off if you kept it.

I'm have been so busy this summer we have only used ours the week we went on vacation at the lake. But, no way I'm selling it. It's been paid off for a couple years and just the little bit I pay for insurance it's still worth it.
Hell on vacation we stopped at my dealer just to look and I think my wife was ready to trade up!

I haven't gotten to use mine like I want to either this year (thus far), but this is really the first big ticket item I've bought where I got my wife's approval (after we used it several times, she likes the family time being spent together on the toon). My vote would be to keep it!!! It's a memory maker

If you sell we will have to come up there and pinch you, or Ed will send a honey to rub her stuff all over you and your wife will leave you, or Greg will replace your hardware with brass.
