Enclosure

#1 Post by BiXLL » Sat Jul 21, 2012 4:56 am

ordered one of these last night. I am hoping this will give us the option of staying the night on the boat when we tip a few too many at the boat club.

Post some pics of that once you get it installed if you would. I've been looking at those, I see they get mixed reviews. I'd like to try some overnight trips sometime, but can't justify a full enclosure. This looks like the perfect compromise. I read someone's review, they said they bought 2 of them and sewed them together for more coverage.

I would love to see some true pics also.
I want to do a camp out with my son but but i'm not looking for a full enclosure. this looks like it will do the trick but I was concerned with the mixed reviews.

We're going to do a 200 mile, two day trip down the Tennessee River from Chattanooga next month. It's very beautiful river cruising through the Grand Canyon of Tennessee and locking through Nickajack, Guntersville and Wheeler Dams.

I wish my wife could sleep on the boat. We'll be staying at the Holiday Inn in Guntersville, AL--as they have a set of boat docks.

I only saw 1 bad review, all the others seemed pretty happy with it. Here is a real life pic from the reviews that show it pretty well. At any rate, I will be the guinny pig on this one and let everyone know what I think.

This is what I did as I could not justify the cost of a full enclosure either. Cost me about $400 for everything and has worked excellent. Takes about 10 minutes to put up and take down.

The thing with me is that I really enjoy the openess of my boat, even with the sides rolled up with a full enclosure the feeling is not the same. I am hoping for the few times per year I want to sleep on the boat that this will do the trick for me and still keep the open feeling. I feel like I would be giving up too much just to have the ability to boat in rain which I am not yearning to do anyway!

I would love to do that trip someday. That one is on my bucket list. I figure if you can sleep on the boat, you reduce the price of the trip by a quarter to a third. But convincing the wife to sleep on the boat might be the difficult part.

I am so glad I do not have that problem. My wife loves to sleep on the boat.

I am going to try one of these

http://www.amazon.com/Kamp-Rite-Compact ... =tent+cots

easy to set up and just lower the tent part to get underwy if you need to

The cot is really comfy - especially if you add a self inflating matress

I ordered a factory camper with my boat. I love it!
