Hello All,
Just traded in a bowrider for a used pontoon. It looks like the previous owner used to keep it on the water. By now all the crud is still on the toons. What is the best way to clean off the crud. I dont care if they shine like a mirror, I just want the crud off and a smooth finish. The concerns are that it is sitting on a new bunk trailer and it will be cleaned in the driveway. So something that will not hurt the trailer or the neighbors grass would be a plus. Work case i could take it to a car wash and do it there. Here is the stuff that i want to remove:
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Thanks, Mike

Use the products listed by MPosey to get most of it off while on the trailer. The only way to get to the rest is if you have a lift of some sort or get to it while it's in the water. My toons looked about like yours when i bought my boat. I acid washed them on the trailer, and then i'd take a few pads of "scotchbrite" made by 3m with me and while i was swimming i would get the bottoms of the toons.

Thanks, i did read up on what you suggested, but i could not get a warm fuzzy about if it was safe for the trailer bunks and paint. So i guess that it is. Thanks.
Thanks, Mike

I used the napa stuff. I don't have bunks on my trailer, but it didn't bother the paint, or the grass
