My Toon is taking a beating!! Please Help!

#1 Post by HHbassman » Thu Jun 13, 2013 7:11 am

On Schroon Lake in NY, it can get windy! And the waves come crashing in causing my boat rise and fall dramatically. 2 years ago it bent the frame from the chain getting too short as the front came violently up with the waves. Does anyone know of a reputable shock absorption product/solution to ease the jarring action as the bow comes up in the waves?

I have chain from block mooring to float mooring and then to the boat. I have seen various solutions, but heard that the rubber/bungi style shocks, break pretty easy. Is that true? Anyone using something they are happy with and a reputable place to order form?

Many thanks in advance.

I've never used these products, but here are a few things I found on the internet.

http://www.dock-calm.com/products.htm

http://www.shockles.com/

Hopefully someone has used one of those products and can give you some feedback.
