led strip lighting

#1 Post by fiddlebick » Fri Jul 12, 2013 3:46 pm

I have been looking at the waterproof 12v led strip lights from ebay and amazon. I have a few questions... I see the light strip on a spool, but how do they connect? Do they just have a supply and ground wire for a simple splice? That should be all they need to tap into my courtesy lighting on the deck. I want them switch controlled. I don't want them tooooo bright either, but I am not sure if a dimmer is available for them. Can you get the 12v setups with a remote too?

http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Wa ... ight+strip

My son did the work on mine but he did out it on the dash on a colored (LED)toggle switch and tied it into the battery.
one thing to think of is one remote works one strip of lights, maybe some else will know if that can be consolidated into one.
Others can give better details but I think yes to all your questions.
