Yep, it is a sad time of year. I will have mine out after the last weekend of September but will miss one weekend before then. I hate having to pull the boat out and winterizing the RV.

making my winterization app ton Tuesday. Targeting mid oct to pull the boat out. The only plus side to pulling the boat, I have a month and a half or so until the ski season gets going!

Days getting shorter, and we're starting to see some leaves on the ground. The trees remain very green and the temperatures have been great on the lake @ 85 degrees.

We took a 125 mile cruise Thursday, and the water on Pickwick was like ice. The skies were very clear and blue.

My boat, trailer and truck are about 45' long and are completely taking up my driveway. We're making canvas seat slipcovers to keep the spider droppings and sap off our boat. The trees are pretty tough right now on upholstery.

In the South, we're good boating until the leaves fall around 11/1.

I heard that.... truth is we haven't had the boat out but maybe 4 times this summer... either been running down south to see the grand baby, and here recently just too damn hot... I think around 100 or so the last several weekends.... however, it should be cooling off here a bit sometime soon, and as soon as it does we'll be going back out on weekends.. hope to keep using the boat up thru october and maybe into november..... That's one good thing about living in the south.... start boating early in the year and keep at it til late in the season....

We have the opposite problem. It has been so miserably hot this year we haven't been able to do much since we bought this new pontoon. We go out a few times a week in the early morning but must be off the water by noon due to the heat.

It is too hot to fish anywhere other than under the bridges. :(

Even September has been miserable so far this year. So I am looking forward to the October and November months as prime fishing time. We will keep our boat on the water the year around but December is often too cold to do much, January can sometimes be worse.

So basically July and August, December and January are limited usage months, the rest of the year is nice or at least usable.

Yep. Went out yesterday. Probably the last time for the season. It was cool & windy. Water temp is too cool to swim. Probably gonna pull it out at the end of the month. :(

While we wont be swimming pat mid Oct, I fish all winter long. Its the best time to get on the big Catfish, if you have to break ice, its game on that day!

For us, the water has been so hot. Looking forward to the temperature to cool down. We have been staying around 100 degrees. Look forward to cooler weather and good fishing October and November.

Yep, same here and even better that we have a lift for the boat now. I would just leave it in all year, but I'll still pull it out to do the oil change once winter starts getting close. And with it being cold in the winter, I doubt my wife would want to do any cruising on the lake anyways. So I'll just keep it out till it warms up next spring.

Since we live where the boat is, and the Yammy doesn't have to be winterized, the Benni is on the lift in the dock all year long. If we get a nice day regardless of the month, we can put her in and take a ride.
Now having said that, we didn't put her in the water this year for the first time until May 31st! I'm still riding around on last year's gas. We have friends coming from out of town next week and then another set in October. They all like to get out, so we'll burn some fuel then.
As Lloyd likes to say: "If you're lucky enough to live on a lake, you're lucky enough."
Maybe we'll name the toon: "Lucky Enough!"
