Arrrgh. There you go again with this blasphemous talk.
Ah well. I understand, sort of. Gee, I wonder if my shack would fit on your platform?
Putting a value on that beasty might be tough. Perhaps a marine appraiser can help, but most of them are on the coasts methinks. Sales venues might be a challenge as well. Somewhere with the widest viewing audience possible as it is going to take a special buyer on this one...you know the type....little twitch in throttle hand....big grin at all times....semi crazy eyes...
Might be worth your while to look for a go-fast forum to find buyers. Strangely enough, eBay might not be too bad of an idea (with either a hard price or a reserve price auction).
Not that I am considering it, but I have sometimes wondered how I would fare trying to sell my morphodite monster. One of a kinds can be a real challenge. Good luck bro, although you're gonna make me feel like the Maytag Man.

As a former FL state cert appraiser being used to analytical thinking in regards to real estate value. I believe, (IMHO) What you have there would appeal only to a very limited market. Your average pontoon family man, fisherman or Joe paycheck that has built his own rust bucket will not be in your price range.
What you really need is comparable type boat sales data. Where in the hell are you going to get that? I don't think its on this forum. But, I've been wrong before (once maybe twice?). I would suggest searching out information from the LOTO area. High performance pontoon boat dealers, newspaper want ads and ? I would also consider contacting a high performance pontoon dealer/company such as JT regarding what they would offer on a trade, and add about 10K.
Or, as a last resort, add up what you have spent to build it. Cut that in half for an asking price and be willing to take offers and give a lot of free demo rides. On my long tenure on this earth, I have built/sold several custom high performance cars and boats. Non of which were pontoons. So basically, I don't really know what its worth, I've just got a lot of time on my hands today to give silly answers to "what's it worth" questions. Its worth what a buyer is willing to pay for it. And the majority of people that like high performance cars and boats.... like to build their own. You might catch that rare person that has more money that common sence. I've looked for him all my life while selling my stuff!
Suggestions?.... Put a for sale sign on it and park in somewhere around LOTO. Buy some high value insurance first. Buy a large sized vaseline jar and prepare to meet Dr. B endover. I've never got what I thought any of my performance cars/boats cost to build and were worth in my mind. And, I always paid too much for what I bought,.... Good Luck.
Kind Regards,
Rascal

Re: How do I find out what its worth
There is a southbay trifecta (sp) here with a 600hp engine in it, he runs about 70 on a good day. He paid $139K for that, of course its newer. I have seen a add for a new outboard southbay, twin 300's on it, I think that was around $140K. Mine is faster than both of those, but alot older. I know it will never get what I have invested (I drove race cars for years) but Im thinking rite around $40K might take it. JT

Funny you say $40K because that was the first number that popped in my mind as well. Id list it for $45K and be willing to take a little less.pond tuuunes wrote:There is a southbay trifecta (sp) here with a 600hp engine in it, he runs about 70 on a good day. Re: How do I find out what its worth
Just did a quick search and NADA lists it for just north of 40K and that doesnt include any of the real go fast stuff. I think that price seems fair.
