New Boat Finally arrived

#1 Post by D.L. » Mon Apr 25, 2016 9:45 am

My new Harris Solstice 240 finally made it in. Only took 5 weeks longer than expecting. Everything looks great except for the bimini frames were supposed to be black to match the railing and they came in silver so they have to ship new biminis and another cover because it was only prepped for a single bimini. Took it for a test cruise with the technician and salesman and saw 42mph@ 6200rpm per gps in a short full throttle run with the bimini up 40 gals of fuel and 3 200+ guys. Motor is a 200 Verado. Still waiting on my aluminum trailer that should be ready this week. Cant wait to spend some time on it this summer!

I posted a thread in the Manufacturers review section titled Cypress Cay/Harris, so feel free to respond there if you feel it will derail your thread. It seems like you did a fair amount of custom options as well and I was wondering how long it took your boat to arrive from the date you ordered? Thanks!

Nice looking boat. Those blue lights look pretty bright in the pix. Are they toned down a little in real life or variable brightness? Hope it doesn't take long to get the fixes in place. That looks like Lake Conroe - The Palms Marina or April Plaza??

I'm liking your lighted cup holders. I didn't opt for them on my Solstace and the first time we were out in the dark, they would have been real nice. I enjoy leaving my courtesy lights on when we tie up at a restaurant in the evening. Get ready for questions and compliments. People stop and stare at this boat. Did you get the underwater light option?

You're going to love the ride when you get it out in the slop!

Yes April Plaza! Bought it from Marinemax there. The lights are not adjustable but that would be nice. They are not horribly bright but definitely affect your vision once you turn them off.

I didn't get the underwaterlights, only reason I got the cupholders and seat bases is the wife wanted them and were pretty cheap. We never boat at night just sit on the boat and socialize maybe at the dock.

Took it out on Saturday with family and friends. Had 5 adults and 2 kids couple of coolers and 40 gals... hit 38mph @ 6200. Pretty happy with that, old boat with a 150 and that load was like 25. :nana

I'm curious about your propeller, do you know what prop was rigged on your Verado 200?

Its a 15x15 Enertia. Took It out by myself this morning... cool morning about 63 degrees. Only got 42 @ 6300 on my raymarine unit. Didn't have it on the other day and was going off boat speedo that says GPS Noticed it read 44 at same time so I'm trusting the raymarine on that. Still very pleased :biggrin2
