Just got one similar to this as a father's day gift. Works great in low wind conditions as the main anchor or to keep the boat from swinging when used with a normal anchor. So much easier than dragging out a regular anchor. I don't have the permanent mounting bracket though. I have a rope with a small loop in it that goes around the boat cleat...just stick the pole through it.
