That is correct. The lumber is dirt cheap and I think I paid less than $100 for a lot more carpet than I needed - I still have enough to do 3 of my bunks.drakus wrote:Nice system. Now the stupid question. Comes with no wood or carpet for the rails, correct?

Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
did you use 2x4 or 2x6?
Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
2x4. I think I had 3 x 10ft lengths. 2 for the long guides and 1 cut up for the angled end pieces and the cross brace support. It should tell you in the instructions how much you'll need. It also shows a piece of angle being used as a cross brace support on their website now, so I'm not sure if that's changed in the last year.drakus wrote:did you use 2x4 or 2x6?

Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
Thank you for the info. Looks like i will be ordering one this weekend after I get back from a short trip to Knoxville.
Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
Received mine yesterday. Instructions say to mount while boat is still on the trailer. It did come with a cross brace as well. Hopefully I'll have it installed tonight.

Looks good and looks like it'll work good as well. I would be a little nervous about that length of pipe below the axle though.

That was my thought too, so as soon as final adjustments were made, I cut it to length as there wasn't as much hanging down.RcgTexas wrote:Looks good and looks like it'll work good as well. I would be a little nervous about that length of pipe below the axle though.

Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
Hello,
I want to ask what other guide system everybody uses to load the pontoon back up. I had problems on my second outing getting straight on due to wind from the side and being new to owning a pontoon. Just checking if there are additional options to the 4C system. I own the Lowe SL 210 with try-toons. The only guide I have currently is a straight up post with carpet about half way in the middle of the trailer to guide the outer logs from the inside. I would like to have something in addition more towards the end of the trailer to prevent being sideways already half way up over the trailer. Hope my discription makes sense to understand.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
A quick fix would be to install 2 sets of posts (1 towards the front and 1 towards the rear of the trailer) about 6" in from the inside of your outer toons. Then install 2x4 boards (untreated) connected from the front post to the rear post (on the side facing toward the outer toons) -- cover those with carpet. These will keep the boat from getting over too far either direction on the trailer. The center toon should not hit either set of posts since the outer toon on the opposite side would hit the guide first.Reiner wrote:Hello,

Thanks, that is something I was thinking of as well and is easy to do.OK Toon wrote:A quick fix would be to install 2 sets of posts (1 towards the front and 1 towards the rear of the trailer) about 6" in from the inside of your outer toons. Re: 4C Innovations bunk guide system
The 4C innovation set up looks like a good one, but I haven't really found any need for it... The first year I had my boat I had nothing but trouble getting the boat on the trailer... Part of the problem was just learning how to do it, but I also added these pvc trailer guides to the back end of the trailer.... I just line up the right side of the boat about 4 inches inside the right trailer guide and she glides right on... works for me...
