the finest ive found locally is at ACE hardware and 1000 only
and its hard to find a good selection of Meguiars locally, you would think the "car capital of the world" Southern California would have a good selection of stuff like this. My shop when I had it looked like a meguiars shop and everything was ordered on the internet

and t_birder, thanks for the tips

my plan right now is to wash with the sharkhide cleaner to get the crud off,
cut down to the m105 using the previous method I posted,
then as a final step use the sharkhide polish.

lots of work but if it were not for this cold I have now I could be doing it now after work since its not really cold anymore :biggrin2

That's because most of Meguiars good stuff is industrial, and can't be found Over the counter. I just place a spring and fall order through Autogeek to get my detailing supplies.

I know this one gets done to death :deadhorse so why the hell not add to it again. If you can tell from the pic from the last time I polished with a synthetic pad and Flitz I was left with BAD swirls. It looks even duller with Shark Hide over it. I had planned on just using lacquer thinner to take off the Shark Hide and re-polish with a wool pad with my Makita and a more abrasive polish like Mothers or Meguiars over the top of the Flitz. If I should remove the Flitz I still have a lot of Eagle One aluminum wheel etching cleaner. It seemed to work and smell like any thing else I've used for cleaning in the past. If I remember I think the people from Flitz told me to use it. I know I've seen a lot of pics of toons here that looked like chrome. I achieved that look the first time I polished them in '04 but haven't been able to find the same polish since. Any input would be appreciated.

Surprised the flitz caused swirl marks. Think I would use the meguairs or mothers and finish with the flitz. Are the pad free of dirt an grime? Never really had any problem with the swirls. Might try a little slower speed. Think my buffer had about 7 speeds an I usually used the 2.5 to 3.5 setting. I used the microfiber pads (blue ones)from auto zone.
From where you have them now, I would use the mothers power metal or meguiars. They cut better and now I believe the info on sharkhide and flitz about being non abrasive after trying to remove a few blems, I had overlooked on my last polishing.
Hard to beat the sharkhide or flitz on bring the shine quickly, but also highlights the blems you didn't even know you had.

Hey thanks Doc. I really want to get those things back to looking like chrome again. I'll check out the blue pads too.

I have a small detailing business on the side, and I get just about all my supplies form Autogeek.com. They have a section just for boats and RV’s. Also they have the best customer service I have ever seen. Just give them a call and they will answer all your questions.

Has anyone tried this stuff. I saw it on youtube, it was about a 7 min video that looked like it worked well.
