great day

#1 Post by dakotamedic » Mon Jul 02, 2012 7:53 pm

Went out on the toon for the first time this year yesterday. What a great day on Lewis and Clark Lake. Met a couple from Nebraska with a year old 25 foot rear ladder Bennington with a 300 Verado...what a beautiful boat. It also had sea legs on it. I had never actually seen them before. He had pulled up toward the rocky beach and set the sea legs. It was quite impressive...but then the whole boat was. Made me jealous.

That's awesome.... I'd also like to see the sea legs in action. Congrats on your boating season starting!

There are a few pontoons around here with Sea Legs ($5k for parts and labor to install) I will try and get some pictures of them in use also.

I've never seen those.... that's pretty damn cool.... I'm sure I won't invest in them, but does anyone have an idea of what they cost ( installed ).

I just have to wonder...
If waves/wake bangin' on the crossmembers is bad enough to cause us to invest mucho time & money underskinning, why on earth would I want that monstrosity under my boat?

This guy I talked to about them told me he lost about 5 mph with them on. most of the underskinning needed to come off.
