Pontoon Ladder

#1 Post by lakebilly » Fri Jul 06, 2012 8:13 am

We've got at ladder at the rear of the pontoon which works great when it is either down or up. Getting it back into the up position is a real pain. It requires getting down on your hands and knees to lift it up out of the water and securing. Anybody know of a gas assist cyinder that is normally retracted and suitable for marine use?

I've seen several stainless gas springs that are normally extended, but that won't work. I need something that is normally retracted. Installation would be a breeze.

Thanks in adavance.

I used a eye bolt and using rope we pull it up

We tie the rope to grab rails.

Wow, that's a really nice, long ladder. Was that aftermarket?

The top half came with toon. I bought the bottom from the BeachComber Factory near here. I made the standoff's to the top half for ease of use

Our ladder has a strap that is attached to the bottom half with a snap on the top half. You use the strap to pull the bottom half of ladder up and then snap the strap in place to keep the bottom half of the ladder up.
