Roadtrip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

#1 Post by rbiederwolf » Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:45 pm

Heading down to the Keys tomorrow for a week. Will be the first time down with the toon. Rented a house in Tavernier. Has 70 ft of dockage right behind the house.

Was a little worried last week as my motor would not run above idle on 4th of July. Mechanic looked at it on Sat and found both fuel filters fairly clogged ( so much for the supposed service before I bought the boat). Everything else checked out fine. Computer showed I have put 100 hours since Dec 2011 when I bought the boat :biggrin2 :biggrin2 :biggrin2

Neat thing is that I gained 1.5 mph with the new filters!!!!!! Got boat up to 28.2. Never been above 26.7

Anyway we leave tomorrow. I'm soooooo excited. Sleep tonight will be tough :nana :nana :nana :nana

You really need to get a spin on water separator filter. If you ever plug one of those your gas station doesn't have a tank, he is just pumping the fuel out of a subterranean cave.

enjoy!

I installed one of these on my boat,
fuel filter
interesting to see small particulates starting to build up at the bottom of the cup even with new gas and the first fuel filter by the tank
