Yeah, you found sandy beach. It can get crowded in there in hurry! Have fun out there!

As our kids got older, the parents of their friends turned into our friends and often joined us on boating excursions.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

We just pull up on the sand bar and let the kids or the dog break the ice with strangers, works like a charm.

Oh... There's another approach!

The front has some rocks that are marked (usually) so pay attention. Ditto the purple martins at dusk. Literally millions of them near dusk. It is an awesome sight. If I see you I will say hi. I am in a garnet 24 Bentley with a 90 merc.

We did boat past the "family" side on our departure. Much mellower i'd say. We'll probably give that side a try next trip. I did see the nice rocks jutting up there.

Even now the purple martins are out? I.e. there isn't a season? I seem to always leave before dusk. The latest I've been there has about about 6pm. When do the martins show up, 8?

The purple martins are still going strong. We were out to watch them on Saturday. If you get there around 8 you will have a good show. The parking on Sandy beach for the 'family' side is easier on the far side cove due to the water being deeper closer to shore. Parking on the front is good but the bottom slopes more gradually. Around the rock area (about 100 yards in either direction) has the best sandy bottom on the front part. Closer to the party cove but still in front has many more pebble sized rocks on the bottom instead of sand. Have Fun!

You get a gallon jug of grapefruit juice and pour out a third. Then fill up it with quality gin. Shake well and serve over ice.

Then, you ride around the lake yelling at all the "sunning" young ladies to "drop their tops." And, we're not talking about bimini's here.

Just kidding. We haven't done that since I bought my first pontoon boat 25 years ago. Now, us old retired guys are just happy having the drinks on board--and gas in our tanks.

But, we did meet a lot of people that way.
