I got the same email, They won't delete your account if you change your user id but I know where your coming from it irritated me also. It's still a great form with nice people just some things are taken a lil to far. As far as the no swearing thing I LOVE that as I don't think it's appropriate at all for any situation!

Why can't you use your Email address for the user ID?

If there was not a screw up in my account my Email address would my ID here, in fact gfretwell is a registered user here. I just can't seem to use it.

Something to do with spammers using this as a door to the site!

Yup, still ruling the roost, to keep it "family-friendly". Still there is a LOT of cool rebuild threads with photos over there. I remember getting a nastygram for saying something about "our fearless leader" in DC. Stayed here ever since, except to look over a rebuild now and then.

I like the rebuild section as well, but what an a$$hole. It's like he's got too much time on his hands, WildCatDude get a life. And what's with the huge font in his posts?

Perhaps the mods here could open a rebuild section on this forum. People are proud of their achievements and like to have a venue to show them off. Add to that, the tips and tricks are beneficial to all even if your not real savvy with tools. Don't get me wrong, there is a wealth of information here, it's my go-to place for help and look forward to each visit. It truly is a community and for the most part, were all on the same page. That being said, the rebuild format brings a different flavor to the everyday how to, what's wrong and where do you get that.

It shouldn't be a requirement to be a parts retailer (Pontoon Stuff) in order host a message board where handy folks can show off their skills and creativity. Look at the level of activity on the other parts of the site, without that section there would be none, nada, zilch. To my knowledge, it's the only website that has such a thing WRT to boating, pontoons or otherwise. There's little doubt the posters have any loyalty to that oppressive regime and would be more than happy to go elsewhere to showcase their projects if one existed.

There would be a mass exodus over there and the website would quickly cease to exist. It's shameful I get pleasure from the thought of that and my apologizes to those offended... and that makes me an a$$hole as well.

I had a MASSIVE long thread over there on mounting and tuning (lots of numbers) my Water Glide, which also included a lot of info on the original build of the boat. I went there a while back to retrieve some of it to bring over here and....ggggone.

Maybe I hadn't been paying them enough attention. Quite irritating :x
Just one more reason I don't cross the fence anymore.

That place is a joke, the guy running it is a dictator, his way or no way.

I got banned because my email address was from my IT business. Said I couldn't use a work email! Its my company I can use it if I want too, nope your banned. Fourm software is some off the wall junk and is buggy anyway, or at least it used to be.

Never miss the place and as a result I don't order stuff from the company either, I go elsewhere.

They never approved my account. Some douchebag named RickDB (LOL) was an admin at PDB and at Pontoonstuff, saw my account and locked it out. I could have gone back with a fake IP, but why bother. Fuck 'em :eviltaunt :eviltaunt :fyou :fyou :fyou
