most of the wood is marine grade plywood so the deck should last long or longer than the furniture. can't remember how old my first toon was when I sold it, maybe 15 years cause i had it over 10 and the deck was still solid when i sold it.........oh my wood dock was put in in 1979 and was still standing before dark tonight......don't sell wood short...............doc

I've got a party cruiser like Ed's. I wish the front were vinyl. The carpet holds water that some how migrates under the cabin & the carpet in the back gets wet , when moored & covered leads to the back molding problems !! If it were vinyl in the front I think most would run off before wicking thru.

The only way you stop that is to caulk around the base of the forward bulkhead.
Cut the carpet back about a quarter inch and lay a bead of caulk in there. I had the same problem with my console and the carpet didn't even go under the console. I removed the console and bedded it in caulk but that is not going to be easy with the whole cabin.

My fear is that its going to be VERY hard to find one used with setup and options and price that I want. (I can't afford new.)

Sun Trackers are commonly UNDER powered though on used market, under powered for ME because we want to wakeboard and tube... hmmmm.... decision decisions.

Thanks[/quote]

Don't give up all that quick. Sun Trackers with Duradeck were being made back in the late 90's. I looked for almost a year before finding a 1999 that was about 100 miles from me. Also, don't be so quick about the underpowered part. Unless it is used in a small area, most have been upgraded to larger powerplants. My 21' was upgraded to a 90 Horse which is maxed out for ins purposes. It has all the power needed to pull tubes and other toys. Don't give up, they're out there..

Thanks again everyone, appreciate the advice, help and comments.

I went by local Bass Pro Shop... took a look at the Sun Tracker series IN PERSON. :nana

Answered my Vinyl vs Carpet... its VERY easy in person (vs pictures) to tell the difference ... the vinyl is way different than carpet, easy to detect, and if given the choice, I'll get VINYL. But that's me... personal choice, I liked the carpet too and see why others would choose it.

I'm not sure how accurate the sales guy was, be he told me that you can't even buy a new tracker now with the aluminum decking, NOT even as upgraded option??? I asked him several times, he seemed very certain... so i thought that was interesting.

Just thought I'd share ... sure was nice looking at those new ones, sitting there in one I didn't want to leave.

LOL

Totally understand what you were feeling---
We were at the boat show inside a new one almost ready to pull the trigger on a new one when I called the guy that had the one I ending up buying--
it was 3 years old but like new and about 12000.00 less.
I'm VERY happy with looking a long time and scoring one I wanted at a very good price.
I hope that kind of luck for you also.
I often wonder if Jimmy really did crack corn, and why should I care?

Thanks for the luck :) I'm sure I'll get something before next summer. $12k discount is worth the wait IMO, that's some serious $$$$ Heck of a deal you got. I don't mind the years old as much as the condition, maintenance, hours.

Yeah when the economy went to hell, Tracker stopped making Duradeck standard, then it was an option. I guess (unfortunately) phased it out to save money and increase profits. That would make me buy used. I am really against wood in boats, being that I restored a boat with plywood a few years ago. A Duradeck boat will outlast you.

Just a tip on the vinyl, you don't always have to go with the "normal" options. We asked for, and received, whole floor teak vinyl. We love it!
