Hope your vacation home weathers the storm, Curtis. Looks like Isaac is coming to your neighborhood.

I think Ron and I have dodged this bullet. The problem will be the surge tide on the back side. Ron, this might be a time to try that anchor idea. Drop the anchor off of your starboard quarter a ways out in the canal to hold it away from the dock.

That storm gets over the warm water in the gulf, it's can turn nasty quick
, at least it is heading out of state.
Dam I just noticed what that huricane smilie was named
, when it was added after Charlie, it was right, dam that was a bad year for Florida, three in a row and everyone passed over central Florida.

Obama claims to have helped Florida prepare for the hurricane since a lot of businesses were already boarded up!

Re: Issac
I'm sure you guys in Florida are very aware of lightning danger. As Florida and Texas seem to trade places for the top number of lightning strike fatalities annually. I read another post here about a guy being smacked by an unusual wave while setting up camp.
Mother nature can sneak up on you. Most of the time you can live to tell about it. Whether it's happened on a camping trip, vacation at the beach, fishing in the open waters, or just walking in the front yard. I myself pay particular attention to thunderstorms. My son was camping with his friends and had to relieve himself in the middle of the night. He was standing next to a tree. The same tree that lightning struck. He didn't survive. So HEED MOTHER NATURE. What's a little bit of caution going to hurt. May save your life and others you care about.

Re: Issac
We are going to get drowned today but I guess it could be worse, but being on the backside of the storm has central Florida is getting all the feeder bands, Ok the map background isn't showing but I'm under the big yellow spot with another one right behind towards the bottom, don't think the yard is going to get mowed for a few more days

Re: Issac
Yup this is a funny one. The storm went up the west coast and the East coast got the worst of the weather. The sun is shining here but I do have an extra couple feet of water in the canal. Yesterday it was 2 feet low.
I put my boat out in the basin so it wouldn't get stuck under the lift.

Yep that is me at the head of that line of rain, I get the feeling it might rain all day, I need to do a few hours of cooking just to cheer me up.

Re: Issac
I can tell you we are wide awake here. I put everything away at the house, and will haul the boat tonight. I think I could get away with leaving it in, but then you have the worry of it. I thought about just floating it up in the yard as the water comes up, and floating it right back out, but if we have to leave, it could get away.
Hauling tonight. Just hooked the trailer to the Jeep.
