On deck caninets

#1 Post by mgarvie » Thu Sep 13, 2012 8:34 am

Anyone know a good sorce for cabinets to mount on my deck? I'm looking for something to hold my camping and fishing gear that is waterproof to store all my stuff year round. Packing and unpacking the boat has taken it's toll on my back and I want everything to stay on it. I'm think a large cabinet for a tent, sleeping bags, chairs and such then something with drawers for fishing stuff, tools, and food. Any ideas?

I have one of the Rubbermaid deck boxes in my backyard. Looking for something a little more sturdy. Plus, you can't really use a pressure washer on one and still have everything stay dry. Thinking of something as sturdy as fiberglass and have a latching seal to make it air tight.

Aluminum truck tool boxes come in different sizes, are weatherproof reatively lightweight, and easily secured. I have picked up a couple at garage sales very reasonable. My $.02

Maybe a good quality cooler would work.

Found some deck boxes that look great, until I looked at the price. Looks like plan "B" will to spend the winter building my own. I figured with all the pontoons out there someone would make some affordable stuff other than just seating.

At first glance, I thought you were sourcing small bore artillery... perhaps converting your rig to a privateer 'toon.
