A trailer is a handy thing. The only problem may be where you park it. It certainly makes maintenance easier. It also opens up a lot of vacation possibilities. You really need to take your boat to the Keys and trailering it there is the best way to get there.

I didn't get a trailer because I had no place to park it, and didn't want to pay storage fees for it. I wish I had one sometimes though. I found a rental place that has them for about $25/day so I can always do that it needed. Lots of places to explore around here both salt and fresh water so a trailer is a good thing.

He was always going to get a trailer....he just has the need to research the bejeezus out of everything. Not that that is a bad thing...just time consuming.

We have plenty of room to park it, thank goodness. We would LOVE to do the keys trip. Problem is, I traded in my Navigator for the MKX. That is the biggest vehicle we have. I am dreading trailering this boat home whereas, I was looking forward to "floating" it home. Ha Ha

The trailer will be invaluable to us for hurricane/storm relocation. We rarely have 2 days off in a row. Hopefully we can make a change and start enjoying more leisure time.

It takes quite a large place to park a pontoon trailer. My driveway would hold 8 cars, but I've got room for about 2 cars after parking the boat trailer. Pontoon boats and trailers can really take up the square footage.

After not having a pontoon trailer the last 25 years, I'm going to enjoy trailering my boat up river 200-300 miles for weekend trips home. And, there are many, many great lakes within 200 miles that are worth seeing--Old Hickory, Percy Priest, Center Hill, Dale Hollow, Smith Lake, Pickwick, Kentucky Lake.

My 24' Marine Master trailer came out of a very large factory in Tullahoma, TN. I wish it had surge brakes, however my diesel pickup handles it well. I'm impressed with the quality however, even though it cost just over $2K.

Around here, and the size of my boat it would cost me a lot more NOT to have a trailer. End of season (travel lift)haul out and on site storage at the marina would have been more than I paid for my trailer by now.

I think Wes got a quote of about 2100 on a used trailer. I believe it's galvanized. We live on the water so we don't have to store the boat on it, thank goodness(been there....). We have a third acre compound at our shop where we can park the trailer.

I'm still a little disappointed that we can't bring it back on the water but glad he's getting the trailer purchase over with.

My wife has an MKX. It should be OK if you take it easy. Just be sure you get the tongue weight right. If you can pick up the tongue, it is not right. You want 200# or more for a boat that big. Having it a bit "nose down" seems to be a good thing. It gives you some down force and seems to make it trail better.

I suppose I should give the dealer this info before I get there. I'm not sure we will doing another test drive before I pull it home. So once it's on the trailer....

I tow my enclosed trailer behind the MKX, but usually not far. It tows fine but it's a low boy....not so in the wind. The fuel mileage is that of the navigator while I am towing. I figure towing this barge, I will get the same mileage as the barge itself
