Trailer Opinions?
If you have read my other thread, I will be in the market for a new 20' pontoon trailer as soon as Progressive comes up with a value for my stolen trailer.
The dealer I bought my boat from can get a single axle (no brakes) 20' Hustler Trailer for $1799.
The marina owner can get an MFI trailer, no brakes single axle for $1,700.
The Hustler trailer can have brakes added for $500. I only tow a few times per year for shorter distances and haven't had any braking issues, so not sure if it's worth it).
Thoughts on these two brands or should I go a different route? The Trailstar I had seems to be closer to $2,500. Thanks!

Re: Trailer Opinions?
The MFI trailer is perfectly nice, and the price is right. For a 20' boat on a single axle trailer in Middle Tennessee's terrain, brakes are not really needed.

Re: Trailer Opinions?
Brakes may not be needed, But I wouldn't tow without em unless it was a trailer/load less than 1000 lbs, and I was towing with at least a 1/2 ton truck/suv. Just like a hand gun, better to have and not need than to need and not have.

I also had a Progressive insurance claim for a new trailer from an auto accident. I also have a Sun Tracker, and the Bass Pro service manager recommended a Shoreland'r (to replace my Trail Star). It is the nicest, best built trailer I have ever owned. It may cost a few dollars extra, but it is worth it. Check out their website. Good Luck!

Re: Trailer Opinions?
I tow my 20 foot toon on a single axle roadrunner trailer.. no brakes.... having said that I agree that if you only tow once or twice a year or only tow very short distances, you probably don't NEED them.... but like someone else said.. it sure wouldn't hurt to have em... Given your situation I'd probably pass on them, but if the insurance company will pony up enuf $...... why not?

Re: Trailer Opinions?
I had nothing but problems with my 2003 Bear trailer and they were of no help resolving the issue. I would never buy a Bear trailer. If you have the time take a look at the bear trailers, you wont be disappointed.

Re: Trailer Opinions?
Thanks for the great feedback. Glad to hear the MFI is a decent trailer. Anyone have an opinion on Hustler Trailers? I am leaning towards those two since I can get them delivered to the marina. Still waiting on value from Progressive.
