Spiders and bugs

#1 Post by REPETE » Sat Nov 24, 2012 7:42 am

I just read another thread where this came up. Dryer sheets work fantastic in keeping bugs away. I line the ceiling of my covered lift with them and it works great! I also place thm all over the toon...compartments...between seats...etc.

How often do they need to be replaced?

I replace them when they don't smell nice anymore.

As far as I can tell, the way to control spiders is:

http://www.bugspraycart.com/insecticide ... suspend-sc

Anytime I need to get rid of any varmit or bug, I consult BugSpray.com. They've got long essays on how to get rid of 150 or more pests. I think Chipmunks are about as bad as any critter.

They last a long time. I usually only replace them once a summer. It's well worth the cost.

We do the dryer sheets all year in the canopy cover and this keeps out most of the spiders and mud dobbers. We also spray the dock once a year. In addition, we put moth balls under the dock walk way each fall to keep the muskrats and mink away from the boat. Knock on wood, we have had no damage yet.

I'm not saying let's go kill all the stupid people.. I'm just saying let's remove all the warning labels and let the problem work itself out.

Yep! Moth balls and dryer sheets have worked for me in keeping bugs and rodents away! ...I also use Ortho bug spray very liberally around the dock AND I lay down a bug barrier (granuals) about once a month or so. (Around the house and dock)
