Finally got the new trailer
MFI Trailers in Winchester, TN completed my trailer and I picked it up yesterday. This was a replacement for the Trailstar I had stolen back in September. The Trailstar was stolen from the marina storage lot, so the owner ordered me this one at cost. Final price with the added spare tire bracket and wheel / tire came to $1,885. Progressive gave me $1,835 so I can live with the difference.
The empty trailer towed very nicely and seems to be high quality construction. It has extra lights across the back center and the side that the Trailstar didn't have. I will have to adjust the steps when I get the toon on it. The 1st picture has the trailer guides I set on it for reference. Not sure if I will install them or not. They are extremely heavy and bulky.
The only disappointment I really have is there is no safety strap by the winch. I guess I will have to get one and decided how and where to mount it. So far I am very pleased with the trailer. I'm so gun shy though that I have a hitch lock and a cable on it locked to my fence. I can't store in my neighborhood so will be storing it covered with a tarp in a friends horse pasture.
Thanks for all the friendly advice as I went through the process of selecting a trailer.

Nice! put the guides on if you plan on trailering at all. I know you slip though.

I'll second (or is that third) the guides. ANY wind at all and I have a lot of difficulty getting my boat on its trailer (although I'm getting good at using dock lines to line it up). I'm going to rework my trailer this winter.

My Marine Master trailer came with carpeted guides adjusted to 4" from each toon. I think I'd like them a little closer--more like 2".
Glad you're back in business. That reminds me that I need to remove my wheels and put them in storage for security purposes and to make them last longer.

Thanks for the feedback on the guides. I guess I will have to load the pontoon once to mark where to put the guides. They are just so heavy. If I hit one on a windy day it may result in a toon dent. The Trailmaster had angled guides. These will definitely be less forgiving!
We have great weather the next 4 days in Nashville. I may o fishing and bring the toon home for some November spring cleaning.

Re: Finally got the new trailer
Nice trailer! Give her a good coat of wax, or better yet, a coat of Sharkhide will make it look good for years. The paint on them looks good at first, but its cheap and will fade quickly. If you don't use the guides, I'll buy them from ya! Want to put another pair on my trailer!
I stuck a set of locking lug nuts on my trailer's rims to keep them on. Damn thieves!
