Awesome site

#1 Post by Itsabouttime » Sun Jan 13, 2013 6:09 pm

I only registered here about one week ago but this is quickly becoming my favorite spot on web. There is such a wealth of information and so many good folks ready and willing to share.
My big problem now will be how I explain to wife that the boat that was such a good price is going to cost me another $5000.00 to add all the cool must haves that I see discussed here.

Glad you like us. Your right about wealth of information.

Doesn't matter if your toon cost $ 500 or $500,000. A toon is a toon

I went to the boat show last Thursday, and a Manitou/Avalon dealer had a picture sitting on a 150 hp 22' Oasis VP hull boat. The picture was of a SHP hull boat, and it had a big red 58 mph written on the picture.

Then, the dealer started to put the hard sell on me.

I told him I've had pontoon boats since 1985, and I live and breath power boating.

But if he thinks he's getting 58 mph out of a normal pontoon boat, I'd certainly be looking at other dealerships to do business with. And to think I learned all about high performance pontoon boats, tri hulls, and strakes right here.

Ya, this site is great. Lots of fun and great information. I think it is invaluable to obtain information about performance and quality from impartial 3rd parties.

He's not getting it with 150HP, but you can get 58 out of an shp. I'm pretty sure Bryden24shp got near that out of his. I know that Playcraft has gone into the 80's and over on their models
