Bennington advice!
Bennington price? Found 2011 Benny 2274 gli with 84 hours and 115 merc elpt4 efi. Has 25" pontoons with lifting stakes. Been used in fresh water only and I will be using it salt water and leaving it in the water. Besides bottom paint and zincs , what else needs to be done? Asking 26k. I believe it's worth maybe 22? Has one more season warranty on motor. Right boat for me? Right price?
Re: Bennington advice!
Go to the Bennington site and price out a new G GLi, exactly as this one is outfitted. Then take off 28%. That is what you would pay new. Now you would have to take off depreciation as well.Four R's wrote:Bennington price? Found 2011 Benny 2274 gli with 84 hours and 115 merc elpt4 efi. Has 25" pontoons with lifting stakes. Bennie's are fantastic boats. Their service is top notch. You can also go to the Bennington forums and ask over there.

28% even at this time of year? No problem converting a fresh water boat?Padre wrote:Go to the Bennington site and price out a new G GLi, exactly as this one is outfitted. Then take off 28%. Re: Bennington advice!
I'd suggest going onto Boattrader.com and looking for comparable top line pontoon boats. NADA also has a boat section online.
Then use that for a basis to make an informed purchase price.
The problem is that most boats of this caliber in the retail market are now tritoons.
Anyway it goes, used Benningtons don't last long on the market. They're sold quickly due to great reputation.

Re: Bennington advice!
Is it coming with a trailer? It sounds a little high to me. If it has a trailer around $23500 would be my number.

Re: Bennington advice!
Maybe I am a little high at 22K because there's no trailer and motor has 84 hours. How about a Merc compared to Yamaha (which I heard is bullet proff)?ROLAND wrote:a neighbor of mine bought basically the same rig you described ( bennington ) with the trailer, motor was a 90 hp yamaha 4 stroke with only 6 hours on it.....( 2011 model ) told me they paid 25K.... Re: Bennington advice!
I think $21,500 is a good number with out a trailer. What are you going to do with this boat? If you want to do water sports and are on a big body of water, I would hold out for a triple toon and at least a 150 hp motor. If you buy the right boat now, you can keep it for years, don't forget a new boat has a lot of warranty and can be built with the options you want. The lifetime structural warranty on Benny's is original owner only FYI. Not that that would discourage me from used, but needs to be factored into price difference between new and used.

Re: Bennington advice!
Bennington's latest literature says for a new boat purchased, at least in 2013, the warranties are transferable by a Bennington dealer to a Club Bennington member at no charge. Definitely something to think about for resale if you buy new.1roadking wrote:I think $21,500 is a good number with out a trailer. What are you going to do with this boat?
