Picked up my new Suntracker!

#1 Post by safetysme » Tue Mar 26, 2013 7:20 am

Picked up my new suntracker 22 dlx party barge with 90 hp merc saturday and once home installed my humminbird 597 ci HD DI. Sunday was so nice when I got up so I just had to go out and perform the motor break-in. 27 mph gps max at 6000-6200 rpm. Next day, three inches of snow! Guess I ticked off the snow spirits for spending a couple hours in the C&D canal. 47 degree air and 40 degree water, but I was lovin every minute of it! :nana

I'm in Chesapeake City, yeah that late snow sucked but we got about 1 1/2" here then changed to rain. Where'd you launch from, Delaware City ramp ?

Badmoon: I put in at chesapeake city ramp. The only real problem was that I forgot to check the tides and I actually put in when the tide was going out and it is a short ramp so my trailer dropped down when I was trying to load it back up. I didn't realize there was such a huge tide drop there at the ramp (almost 3 ft.). I sent away for a permit for the Elk Park ramp in elkton (top of the elk river). I also will be scouting the ramp in Delaware City or Charlestown - maybe this weekend.

Everyone else: thanks for the warm wishes and I told myself (they are gonna want pictures) when I posted first. I'll have to dig some up (I am notorious for not taking pictures of stuff).

Yep, I live 1/4 mile from that ramp. It sucks at low tide. The ramps at Bohemia Vista and Hack's Point marinas are also good. The Elk Park ramp is new but the Elk River in that area is pretty shallow.
