Bryden, I need to get a deal like you have. I have a prop guy that is suppose to be very good. I am sure he knows boats, but Im not to sure about pontoons. with the new engine, I tried a stock 26p 4 blade, toon took off ok, but could only pull 4800 rpms and about 60-62 mph. then borrowed a 24p 4 blade, that had been repaired several times so nobody really knew exactly what it was. got about 5000 rpms, 66, 68 mph. told this guy my scenario, he said I need a worked 24p 4 blade. I told him I think more like a 22p 4 blade worked, as my engine builder says to run 5400 rpms. prop guy said I need to make a 24p more efficient, and that 5000 rpms is fine, toon rips off the line, tacs out at 5000 rpms, best speed I got is 78 mph, trimmed out. Do you kinda agree with the 22p 4 blade worked? JT
2002 playcraft extreme,26', I/O, 498 ci, 625 hp, 580 ft pounds of torgue, Dart alluminum heads, holly 850 carb, bravo XR drive. GPS 76 mph.

My hat's off to you for building such a beast. It must really be interesting to see you when the boat's up to speed.
Have you ever taken time to figure your MPG?
We'd be interested in how such a boat performs.

Re: Don't even ask how I got into this one.
I believe he had the 300 Pro Max's last year as he did this year. Last year he did run 107 at LOTO. Of course you know about this year.bassn386 wrote:I wonder what the guy who ran 3 300 Verado's at the Lake of the Ozarks Shootout last year was using?
He's supposed to be back. I'll be doing patrol duty on Sunday so maybe I'll get to see him. I think he did either 107 or 109 mph last year.

Quick update. I can't find a jackplate to accomodate the Verado. Its 25 pounds too heavy. Detwiller is having an engineer look into it for me, too see if they will budge. CMC will sell me one but not stand behind it if it breaks. Guess I don't blame them.
So for now, the jackplate is to be decided. Who knows, might not even gain anything with the PTX, but the CMC on the SHP was perfect. It really woke that Old Manny up.
The props are ready to go on and the boats full of 93 octane. Rivers slowly thawing out, almost time to start playing again! So bring on the sunshine so I can go play!!!

There is a guy with a Yamaha 350 on one of those Bob's plates with a 6" setback with no problems, so I'd think Verado should be fine as well.

Thanks Guys, The Extreme series was'nt on the market last fall. I just sent them an e-mail inquiring on specifics for a 6 inch offset. It may be "Game On" again!
