Yeah, I drive Clear Creek Canyon every day to and from work, and the ice has been melted out for a few weeks. It's a little worrisome. You've got all of South Park to fill Chatfield, and they're pulling the plug on Antero to keep 11-Mile and Spinney as high as possible, so it's not bad. Horsetooth isn't looking all that great - I wonder how Pueblo Lake is doing?

We've already booked two visits to Blue Mesa this year, and if Horsetooth isn't looking good, we may spend more time at Granby. The drive time to Granby is about the same as Horsetooth from our house, and Berthoud Pass isn't that bad. We also hope to hit Navaho and maybe Vallecito this year.

I couldn't even imagine towing a big pontoon on Berthoud Pass - my nerves would be shot (and I'd need a couple of shots BEFORE and AFTER the Pass). But I guess it's as with most things, you just get used to it after awhile.

Oh yeah - Berthoud Pass is NOTHING compared to the roads I have to drive to get to and from my house!

US 6 in Clear Creek Canyon, and Colorado Highway 119 from US 6 to where I live - narrow twisty little roads (if you're not used to driving mountain roads, anyway). US 40 over Berthoud Pass is a super-highway by comparison!

You're lucky.

Horsetooth is down 27 feet.
Lake Pueblo is down 54 feet.

Oddly, Chatfield in Metro Denver is full.
