the simplest answer is... whichever card works in your device the best....

i don't have a device that accepts a card... so here's what i did....

i downloaded the $10 navionics app, and their $2 add-on feature, to my iPhone 5.

i'm very happy with it so far..

i've only used it a couple times, on my local lake that i know pretty well. im not sure if you have to have a data signal for it's use.... i'm thinking just gps capability...

the next time im at the lake, i'm going to turn off my data and wifi.. and see if it will still track me...

it crosses over to all apple products, and syncs automagially if you want it to... so, i use the ipad at home, to create routes, drop pins, etc... then, when it's time to go, i use the iphone as a chart plotter. you can follow routes, track your route, and a few other things. another cool feature is that when you preset your cruising speed, and gallons per hour... it does the math for you.... how long the route will take, and how much gas you'll use...

if you think you wont be receiving 'signal', you can download a map of the area before you go... so the GPS can show you where you are.....
