Stupid trailer wheels

I'm having a hell of a time finding some new damn trailer wheels for my trailer...

14" 5x5.5" lugs...they're nowhere to be found!

Wheels ought to be easily found online. ChampionTrailers.com is where I look to for trailer parts.

They're probably the same wheels that a Ford uses--same pattern. They can usually be ordered in from any large tire distributor and received within 12-24 hours.

There are relatively few vehicles using 14" tires anymore. Ford Ranger, and that's about all. It's used tires for my utility trailer I've had problems finding.

Most trailer manufactures use either ford or gm wheel lug patterns. But size of tires to fit your trailer can be hard to find sometimes.

I'm finding plenty of 14" 5x5, or 5x4.5, but the 5x5.5 are very few, and they are way more than I want to spend(I'm looking for under $50) I might try a 5x5 and see if they fit, it's just for a spare s I'm not overly worried

My old trailer had some 5 on 5.5. They are rare and expensive. My local tire shop was able to get them.

If still no luck, go to an ag implement dealer. The trailers they use for combine header haulers use that bolt pattern I believe.

Just saw you were loking under 50 bucks. Thats not gonna happen.

Just for a spare you could fabricate the bolt pattern if you know someone that is a welder.

The 5 on 5 will not fit, dont waste your money.

These guys are 15 minutes from my house and can get anything for old, obsolete trailers and are good with unusual stuff. Even my late 60's era aluminum trailer I have for my Starcraft. Best prices around too.

I've not had any luck sourcing them either 5x5.5 must not be utilized much by any trailer manufacture. I also haft to add this if I were you I'd also be searching for a spare replacement hub source. Often on the road with a wheel bearing failure the hub is also often compromised and I have the feeling a replacement hub kit is also going to be as elusive or maybe more so than than the spare tire you're attempting to obtain now.

This is good advice. Especially if you travel very far from home. I was going to replace spindles hubs and all on my old trailer, but it's only 1/4 mile to the ramp, so I didn't end up changing them. In the long run it might be cheaper thopugh if you plan on keeping the trailer.

I'll be trailering about a mile during the summer, about an hour whenever I need to actually bring it home to work on it.
