How I spent my Holiday Weekend.

#1 Post by BoatCop » Tue May 28, 2013 7:33 pm

Just a couple of shots of how our River looked this weekend. That's me in the Sheriff's boat in the middle of all the carnage. There's no way in hell, I'd be out there if I didn't have to be.

The last picture is why proper loading of toon is critical.

That is the infamous Parker Strip. It's not always that bad. Just on holiday weekends. Mid week it's probably the best boating on the planet.

And while you're avoiding the Strip on the big weekends, you might also avoid the London Bridge Channel in Lake Havasu.

Remember, this is where the douches and tards of CA, NV & AZ all meet and come out and play. I feel for you BoatCop.

Ill probably hit the backwaters in Blythe or Palo Verde when its not too hot.

Holy wow, man.
Shots like that make me want to grab my canoe and head deep into the swamp.

No way could I enjoy that if I were the captain on a day like that. Stress level would be over the top!

What's even worse is that people actually pull their kids on tubes and wake boards through that mess.

Luckily we haven't had any of them run over, and actually made it through the weekend without any serious collisions or other accidents.

That is nuts right there. Talk about total chaos. Yep, my hats off to you for keeping your sanity and protecting those that have no F'n clue what they are doing on the water.

I went thru the London Bridge channel during the week before Memorial day and it was deserted, glad I went thru when I did. Next Mon. and Tues. I will be on the Parker strip, that should be calmer also. Were those pictures between Roadrunner and Foxes?

Yeah. Those were taken from the deck at the Sandbar (Red Rock).

I won't be on the water next week, but should be in the office.
