The next candidate to replace my Party Cruiser...

#1 Post by badmoonrising » Wed May 29, 2013 8:14 pm

Found this 2003 Bennington 2575 RL w/115 Mercury 4 stroke for sale locally (an hour from us). Looks to be in good shape ,I e-mailed asking to take it for a sea trial tomorrow.

Asking price is just over NADA, they want 13k. I figured I'd offer 11k cash if everything checks out.

Thoughts ? Anyone else have the same year/model 'toon and/or the year/motor ? Any problems ? Love/hates ?

Bottom paint is common here. The upper Chesapeake can be fresh in the spring and then as the summer goes on a bit salty. We also have zebra mussels, barnacles and heavy duty marine growth. Bottom paint keeps the critters from attaching. Very few aluminum boats aren't painted up here.

Looks nice. Couldn't tell if straked or not.
I had that exact motor (I think) on Al the 2nd for a while. It was an '04 115 4-stroke. Very quiet. Good mileage.

NADA has the the boat (no trailer) is valued at $8860.00 - $10,115.00

Ballpark on the trailer ? I am guessing $1500-$1700 since it's non galvanized.

The boat retail doesn't include the motor. So I would say that's a great price.

You won't be disapointed with that boat Ed. Aside from being a 2 log and no underskin and 3 feet longer, it's the same as our 2006. The filler seat is a nice option as well. I don't know how it will do without strakes but it's a great deal. And the "R" furniture was top of the line back then.
