I never buy gas on the lake. Saving $10 per two 5 gallon Jerry cans is a big deal for such little work.
I just hate to see how much money our neighbors' 40' offshore racing boats spend on a weekend @ 75 gallons per hour. They run for hours on end, and have to buy gasoline at a marina.

It was a good time, but not for everybody! We were slipped for the night, so we got to watch the show at the south ramp... We saw people shouting at each other, and the Parkies moving in... And people were leaving the lake until about midnight - even though the ANS inspection station shuts down at 10. We thought that was very strange.rsmith wrote:Welcome to my lake Bob. Hope other than the gas price you had a good time!
The lake was "at capacity" by 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, so they weren't letting boats on, unless one came off.
We may come back to Chatfield, but only during the week. That wasn't a bad day by Chatfield standards, but it was a lot worse than the worst I have seen at Horsetooth or Pueblo. Next week, it's off to Summit county, where we MIGHT try to get on Dillon. I talked to the marina at Frisco, and they said that their ramp WILL NOT OPEN THIS YEAR, because the lake is expected to peak at 7 feet below normal. Dillon ramp should be open, and they were completely rebuilding it last time we were there last year. In the meantime, we're thinking about checking out Green Mountain, Wolford Mountain, Turquoise, and Twin lakes.
