I back down the ramp until water seeps under the door of my truck!
I back down the ramp until I see the back ¼ of the boat in the water.
Get out, unhook the straps, wife gets in the boat.
Back slowly until I see the back of the boat float up slightly.
Go back a little more then jab the truck brakes...off she goes!
When loading, I back all the way until I dunk the trailer bunks to wet them, then pull back
up until about 2 feet of the bunks are out of the water.
Wife drives it right up to the stops, strap the front and away we go.
We can launch/load in less than 5 minutes. Never concerned about the rear tires of
the truck being in the water.
Oh and another little trick, if I think the boat might be a bit crooked, after I strap it,
I just back up a bit and let the back float up a little. Then, when I pull forward it will settle right
in to the bunks. Have done this a couple of times when it was really windy and hard to
get it to come in straight.
