Thanks Guys, It is a great vacation. Boats running fantastic! Just too bad it started off like it did. Ya, I should have a sign made up, free EzFenders and Cash for a tow! BTW, I have towing insurance through Marine Max, they were 4 hours out assisting with a burning boat. I was 2 minutes away from having split open pontoons.
evinrude2stroke, Ya... The wind pushed it right around on us. Wicked drive!

I think it should be a law that if you own a boat you should have some type of Tow assistance - SEATOW/TOW US etc. Not to be too selfish, but why should my day be ruined because they were either too cheap to maintain their boat or too cheap to buy some insurance.
Paying a tech over $1200 didn't stop me from being towed in 3 times last season (thanks for unlimited towing from BoatUS). Never needed a tow before after close to 40 years on the water. The worst part is still cant get the POS to run or find somebody who knows how to fix it!!! :hairpull :hairpull :hammer

And that totally sucks! I know we maintain our boats to the fullest, and when someone we trust can't get them fixed it really pisses us off. Here is a quick example... when I found out that my fuel float was bad, I told them to replace it and my fuel filter and water/ fuel separator. They only replaced the float assembly, told me that the filter and separator were not in stock anywhere in Osage Beach. No biggy. I went to the local parts store in Osage Beach, today and got them. I told the guy there about it and he said that the repair shop called about the filter and separator and since they did not have delivery that day, to forget it. The repair shop is 1/2 a mile away from them. Jerks! They could have made another $50 easily, and I would not have cared. It would have saved me a 1/2 hour of dicking around. I take pride in maintaining my boat, I want it to be ready to go when we need it, to have this happen is kinda unforgivable, and to be accused of not maintaining them as mentioned above, that pisses me off even more! What comes around.... Goes around!

I bought Tow Boat coverage 3 years ago and less than two months after getting it I needed it. It was getting dark and the bass boat wouldn't start and I knew the trolling motor probably wouldn't get us back to the dock (about two miles and across the lake). Because of the time of day and day of the week, it took them about an hour to get to me, but I was way in the back of a cove that was in the back of a cove.
Best money I ever spent and I happily renew every year. It's like AAA for the water.

A lot of "the big boys" (read go-fast crowd) have had a problem with Kelly's Port. They seem to have a A-B-C-D levels of service. You spend a ton of $$$ with them and you get A-tier service. If not . . . . ., well you found out. Actually, I think you got lucky that they saw you at all.

What happens at the lake stays at the lake. Unless I have my camera handy.

Well, I gotta little bit of pull at Kellys, I sold a few boats for them in the last year. One to one of our members here. They are just one cove over from us and I am on the Preferred Customer list, so it helped a little bit, I think. Ya, we could still be on the trailer! Was up your way yesterday, Frankie and Louie's. Coconuts and Toad Cove. Today??? No game plan, Grand daughters are swimming and happy as can be here at home at Heron Bay! Love it!
