Snorkling off of New Port Richey?
I know this is a little off topic but I figured if anyone knew about this, you guys would. Does anyone know of any interesting snorkeling sites off of New Port Richey, FL? I know about the nice rocks at marker 3 on the Cotee river channel but can't seem to find anything else. I know there has to be some spots out here.

How far out you willing to go?
Head a little north for some scalloping.

Hay Ron, How are you? I don't mind going out 5 or 6 miles and I do plan to go to Homosassa next week for some scallops. What I'm looking for is rock piles or maybe a small wreck. Just something interesting to look at and maybe catch a few really small fish for my aquarium.Ron Burgundy wrote:How far out you willing to go?

I think those Hooter gals in your avatar look better than some rocks.

My son lived in Tarpon for 15 years and when we'd go down to visit, we'd go out off Anclote island state park snorkeling.
Went fishing several times straight out from the power plant - 5 miles plus, as about all we could see on the horizon was
the stack from the plant ...and we were only in about 15-18 feet of water over various rock piles - fished for small grouper.
Fish finder will help locate the rock piles.

I've got some numbers for an artificial reef, but its about 8 miles offshore in 35' of water.

Can you email me those numbers? I could make it that far on a calm day.Ron Burgundy wrote:I've got some numbers for an artificial reef, but its about 8 miles offshore in 35' of water.
