Can i take the fin off

I got my pontoon last year,1997 Odessy 22ft with a 115 4 stroke,It has a hyrdro-foil fin on the motor.I was told the only thing it is doing is slowing the boat down,can i take it off and should i

doubt it helps you much on the pontoon. If you take it off and notice a drop in performance you can always bolt it back on.

What do i do about the holes,leave them open or put the bolts back in them

Just leave the holes, they won't hurt anything.

Take it off. If your boat ventilates more or runs better with the fin, you can put it back on in 5 minutes.

I have always run one on my old Starcraft with a Yamaha 115 hp 2 stroke. I could really feel a difference since my motor's height was a little high. I really needed to drop the transom an inch or so.
