New Sink Project

#1 Post by SGTiger » Wed Jul 10, 2013 3:55 pm

Hey guys. You might remember an old sink I put together a couple of years ago:

Well I wanted to come up with something different that matched the color of my boat a little and better and didn't take up as much space. Here is my new sink that only takes up 15"x15" of floor space. It consists of a bar sink that just happens to fit perfectly into a Suncast trash can housing with no modification required. Both the freshwater tank and the gray water bucket is 5 gallons. I wanted a gray water tank instead of dumping straight into the lake for when we are anchored and coating any swimmers with gray water is undesirable. I still need to add a drain hose onto the bottom of the gray water tank and valve so I can empty the gray water tank once I'm under way. Criticism is welcome.

Great idea!!! Both sinks are top notch!! :thumbsup :thumbsup

I'm going to look into copying your idea with the bar sink and the trash receptacle!!!

As far as draining the grey water into the lake, I guess that would depend on which lake, and in
which state you're in. Here, no grey water is permitted to be introduced into the lake, and none
is supposed to be even drained onto the open ground within 15 feet of the lake - and then they
don't want you draining it onto the ground anywhere anyway!

Thank you! Yeah truth be told, I'll probably wait until I get home to empty it even though our area doesn't forbid it. I haven't come close to filling up the 5 gallon tank/bucket yet. I never have anything in there that is too bad. Mainly use it for hand washing with biodegradable soap while grilling.
