New build soon

#1 Post by Mrtoler » Wed Jul 17, 2013 3:02 pm

Ive got the wife's full support, we are going to build a new boat sometime this year. The plan sell the Jon boat I have now and buy the new tubes, 3-25"dia straked tubes the center one with a 300hp transom and 50+ gal gas tank. Also get the crossmembers, hardware, decking and vinyl flooring...then take a break....slowly but surely buy my furniture (I'm going with veada) as for my fencing, im considering buying a bunch of square tubeing and building a set of rails that are 100% perfect for my layout on my boat...I'm considering skinning the rails with aluminum plate not to thick of course but strong enough to be durable..I'll get the father I law to paint them and I'll finish the outside with the custom wrap I never did on my current toon. As for power I'm planning on selling my current toon and putting all that towards a 300 verado pro. When I first finished my current toon I was offered $15,000 bucks several times for it and I know I should have snatched there arm off but I just dident want to sell! I think I can get about 11-13,000 for it and that's half of the verado.... Reason for building this boat is because I'm tired of getting soaked every time we go fishing in the rough bay, and I'm also tired of it taking 30min to get to new fishing spots that aren't that far away...and I'd really like to piss off some of the fiberglass guys when I pass them up... It would also be cool to use my toon in some of the fishing tournaments, and if it'll do 40-50mph there's no reason why a toon couldn't.....I'd really like to see peoples faces when a guy wins a fishing tournament in a 26' pontoon boat...lol

That would be awesome! While you're at it, you might want to consider a Lenco JoyRide system for low and slow manouvering. Being able to do a 360 degree turn with no forward motion should really confuse people.

Bob, I just looked that up and I agree that would be a cool add on and would also be very useful in tight spaces...very cool....

The place where I launch when I'm saltwater fishing I get some really crazy looks from the ppl in there cookie cutter center console glass boats, I've even heard ppl talking about how toons dident belong there and how they can't Handel rough water. I beg to differ, but I just can't get it outta my head. "A guy in a pontoon gets first place in redfish tournament" it'll probably make the local news!!! Lol
